Located In front of Pinasca, to which was annexed between 1928 and 1947, this village winds along the right mountain side of the Chisone river. To find the reasons of the village peculiar location we shall go back to the end of the 12th century, when the Waldensians, after the long religious fights, were forced to move to that side of the river, that had been almost uninhabited until then. The village Includes many smaller Inhabited areas, but only few of them are located by the valley floor along the river course. In fact the majority of them Is scattered about the mountainsides, surrounded by many chestnut grooves and beechwoods. Not to forget, the parish church dedicated to San Francesco da Sales, located by the Clot area and the drainage basin.
