The Inhabited centre
Is located In a large hollow area where the two
valleys meet, and the panorama ranges from the hilly
landscape to the stateliness of the surrounding
mountains. Its name comes from the nature of Its
soil (Petrosa - stony). In fact, besides the still
existing stone quarries, In the past there were
silver mines In the village. Nowadays It hosts the
seat of the Consortium of Communes In Mountain Areas,
located In the Villa Willy, Inside park Tron.

 Moustardela
(blood sausage)
Similar to a cotechino, (kind of spiced Italian sausage
to be boiled In water), It Is made out of previously cooked
pork meat, giblets, pigskin and blood. This mixture Is
then seasoned with salt, pepper, spices and boiled wine.
This traditional blood sausage can be eaten raw with bread,
or can be fried with onions, or boiled and eaten with
potatoes (especially the mountain ones), mashed potatoes
or polenta. It Is also a main Ingredient for a very old
Waldensian dish.
